tools Neeeded
- 3/16th notch trowell
- 10-12mm paint brush (or brush the size of your mortar joints)
- Level or Chalk line
- Scissors

Surface Prep
Prepare the surface before applying the brick slips. (Is the surface flat, dry, free of strain, slightly absorbent, and adequately solid?) Apply mesh and mortar to the seams of the surface you are working on.
If you are going to work outdoors: (Is there adequate protection from the weather during the work while the adhesive mortar and brick slips cure?)

How to install
Step 1

Use a notched trowel to apply the adhesive mortar from top to bottom (the ridges oriented vertically). Do this in small areas at a time.
Remember:
- If the adhesive mortar dries out, spray water onto the mortar to add extra moisture.
Step 2

The brick slips should be applied from top to bottom to avoid adhesive mortar getting onto the brick slips already applied. Choose a fixed starting point, preferably the top corner of a window frame or door frame.
Remember:
- First, apply the corner brick slips around a corner. Then press the flat brick slips firmly into the adhesive in the desired bond.
- Press firmly and evenly on the face of the brick for proper adhesion
Step 3

Smooth the joints immediately after applying the brick slips. Do this with a moist brush.
With this, the adhesive should meet all sides of the brick slip. Moisture must not get behind the brick slip. Further, openings or gaps must not be visible.
Smooth the vertical joints first and then the horizontal joints with a long motion.
